A hop, skip, and a jump from downtown Denver lies Chatfield State Park situated in Littleton. The massiveness and diversity of land in this park allows for a ton of recreation that we often overlook due to its close proximity to Denver.
Often times we think getting outdoors in beautiful landscape takes a longer drive along one of our crowded highways. Chatfield provides a long list of activities that are family-friendly, getting you moving outdoors in some of the best scenery Colorado has to offer.
Hiking, boating, swimming, bike-riding, camping, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, an off-leash dog park, and more, puts Chatfield on our map as an easy destination to do the things we love outdoors. It’s open year-round, expanding the list of ways to enjoy.
Being water babies from Western Michigan, we appreciate Chatfield for the opportunity to get on the water with our floaties, stand up paddle boards, and kayaks. The fact that the water is swimmable is about the biggest bonus ever.
